Anti Rabies Vaccination Drive: Project 270

The project was designed with a clear mission - to provide anti-rabies vaccinations to 270 street dogs, ensuring their safety and contributing to a rabies-free community.

The Paw People Foundation has been at the forefront of animal welfare in Bhopal, India, tirelessly rescuing, healing, and rehoming injured and sick street dogs. In our continuous commitment to improving the lives of these animals and preventing the spread of rabies, we initiated "Project 270." This ambitious project aimed to vaccinate 270 street dogs against rabies, thus protecting both the dogs and the human population from this deadly disease.


Project Goals

  1. Animal Welfare: To safeguard the health and well-being of street dogs by providing them with essential anti-rabies vaccinations.

  2. Community Safety: To reduce the risk of rabies transmission from dogs to humans, promoting public health and safety.

  3. Education and Awareness: To raise awareness about the importance of rabies vaccinations and responsible pet ownership within the community.


Key Activities:

  1. Preparation and Planning: The project team meticulously planned the logistics, including procuring vaccines, organizing vaccination teams, and identifying target locations.

  2. Community Engagement: Volunteers engaged with the local community to explain the importance of anti-rabies vaccinations for street dogs and raise awareness about rabies prevention.

  3. Vaccination Drive: On the designated day, the vaccination teams set out to vaccinate 270 street dogs in different areas of Bhopal. Each dog received a thorough health check-up before the vaccination.

  4. Record Keeping: Detailed records were maintained, including dog identification, vaccination dates, and any additional medical attention required.
