About the Role

Job Summary

The Paravet will play a crucial role in supporting the Veterinarian and providing essential care to animals at our recovery home, outpatient clinic, and through home visits. This includes assisting with examinations, treatments, procedures, maintaining records, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and center.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinarian in providing medical care to in-house animals at our rescue and rehabilitation center, including examinations, treatments, and monitoring.

• Support the Veterinarian in consultations, vaccinations, and treatments for walk-in patients at the outpatient veterinary clinic and house visits.

• Aid the Veterinarian during surgical procedures, including pre and post operative care.

• Administer vaccinations, wound/trauma treatment, and other medical services as directed by the Veterinarian.

• Maintain/assist the vet for accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.

• Maintain medicine stock and other essential record keeping, including inventory management.

• Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

• Attend calls and schedule cases for the clinic and home visits.

• Assist in educating pet owners on preventive healthcare, nutrition, and responsible pet ownership.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless operation of the rescue center and clinic.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting (preferred).

• Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques.

• Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of a Veterinarian.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A compassionate and empathetic approach towards animals.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to travel for house visits as required.
